SYVT offers curb-to-curb Dial-A-Ride (DAR) service for seniors (60+ years) and ADA-certified patrons (regardless of age) within ¾ of a mile of the SYVT fixed route.
It is a reservation-based, shared-ride service. This means that while you’re riding the bus, it may stop to pick-up and/or drop-off other passengers. All DAR vehicles are wheelchair accessible, and our drivers are trained to help you. Click here for a Dial-A-Ride brochure.

On Sundays, DAR service is open to the general public. To schedule or cancel a reservation call (805) 688-5452. Cancellations should be made at least two hours before scheduled pick-up time.

For ADA certification information, please call (805) 688-5452 or download information and an ADA Application Form (PDF).

Santa Ynez Valley visitors who are ADA-certified by another transit agency may use SYVT’s Dial-A-Ride service for up to 30 days without proof of residency or completion of a SYTV ADA  Application.

Service animals are allowed with no additional charge. Service animals are defined by the ADA as “any guide dog, signal dog, or other animal individually trained to work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability, including, but not limited to guiding individuals with impaired vision, alerting individuals with impaired hearing to intruders or sounds, providing minimal protection or rescue work, pulling a wheelchair, or fetching dropped items.”

Likewise, registered attendants travel for free when accompanying an ADA-registered customer. The name and contact information for the attendant must be provided during the ADA-certification process.
