City of Solvang Grant Funding Process

The Solvang City Council recognizes the importance of the many human service, cultural and emergency assistance programs and organizations that serve community residents. As part of the annual budget process, the City Council shall appropriate such funds as it deems prudent and reasonable to award grants to non-profit community service organizations. Such funds will be held in reserve until specific funding requests and recommendations are reviewed and approved by the City Council.

The City Council adopted modified grant funding policy for Fiscal Year 2020-22 Financial Plan Development focusing on Humanitarian services and senior services in particular. The policy may be viewed here.

The City requests all grant applications to be submitted by April 30, 2021 for consideration during the Final Budget Adoption. On May 24, 2021 the City Council will consider all completed funding applications at a Regular scheduled Council Meeting.
