Discount Programs for Students Aged 6 to 20

Public transportation is an essential service and is often the only way students can travel to and from school. That is why SYVT has partnered with the Santa Ynez Valley Union High School District to offer discounted fare options to students aged six to 20. These discounts include a 10-Trip Pass for students who rely more frequently on public transportation and a one-way solution for those students who only need to ride the bus periodically.

The student 10-Trip Pass is $10 and provides 10 single (one-way) rides on SYVT fixed routes. This pass is available for purchase at the SYVT office. Parents and caregivers can purchase the pass by providing the student’s name and school. Students can buy the pass by showing their valid student ID.  Older students may be asked to show their student ID when they use their pass onboard the bus.

The one-way student fare provides a single ride on SYVT fixed routes. This fare is only available on the SYVT bus. Parents and caregivers can pay the student fare on behalf of their student if their student is with them. Older students can pay the student fare upon boarding by showing their valid student ID, while younger students can simply tell the driver which school they attend to obtain the discount.

Student fares are only valid on SYVT fixed routes.  If you have questions or would like more information on how to ride, contact 805-688-5452.
