Solvang, CA: On May 1, 2017, Santa Ynez Valley Transit (SYVT) launches its new monthly pass providing unlimited rides for a calendar month. Valid on SYVT’s fixed-route service, the pass is priced to offer considerable savings over the current cash fare.
Currently, each one-way trip on SYVT’s fixed-route service costs $1.50, with discounts available for seniors and persons with disabilities. The new monthly pass is priced at $42.50 and offers unlimited rides throughout the calendar month. The senior monthly pass is priced at $35.00, while qualified persons with disabilities can purchase a monthly pass for $21.00.
In addition to offering a considerable cost savings for regular riders, the monthly pass also offers the convenience of not having to carry cash. Monthly pass holders simply show their valid pass to the driver upon boarding.
“During our recent transit planning process, customers indicated a desire for a monthly pass,” said Matt van der Linden, Public Works Director for the City of Solvang. “We believe the new pass will not only offer convenience and savings for our customers, but also streamline the boarding process, making SYVT’s operations more efficient.”
Passes may be purchased at the SYVT office, located at 431 Second Street, Suite 9, in Solvang. The office is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
